Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I wax?
Waxing surpasses shaving in terms of longevity, offering a prolonged hair-free period compared to the short-lived results of shaving. While shaving necessitates frequent maintenance every one to two days, waxing can provide smooth skin for up to six weeks. Moreover, waxing is known to cause minimal skin irritation in comparison to traditional hair removal techniques. Consistent waxing sessions can potentially reduce hair thickness and growth over time. Additionally, by effectively eliminating dead skin cells, waxing acts as a thorough exfoliation method, resulting in visibly smoother and healthier skin than other hair removal alternatives. Notably, waxing minimizes the occurrence of ingrown hairs and razor bumps, enhancing the overall skin appearance and feel.
How old do I need to be to wax?
There is no specified age limit or requirement for waxing services. Nonetheless, individuals under the age of 15 are required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian during their initial visit to provide consent. Subsequent appointments can be attended independently without the need for accompaniment.
Does waxing hurt?
The perception of pain varies among individuals, with each person having a unique pain threshold. What one person perceives as unbearable discomfort may be relatively tolerable to another. When executed swiftly and competently, the discomfort associated with waxing is mitigated. Typically, the initial experience tends to be the most uncomfortable. Over successive sessions, individuals commonly observe a marked reduction in pain intensity. Consistent waxing not only yields smoother skin but also contributes to diminishing pain levels over time.
Do you service men?
Facial treatments and body waxing services are open for booking by male clients. Nonetheless, intimate waxing (manzilians and butt) and intimate brightening (Anal and Butt) services for men are not offered.
Can I wax on my period?
While heightened sensitivity and increased pain may be experienced during menstruation, waxing can still be undertaken by ensuring proper hygiene practices such as bathing before the appointment and using a fresh tampon upon arrival.
Can I wax while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Yes, waxing is generally considered safe during both pregnancy and breastfeeding. However, it is important to note that during pregnancy, heightened skin sensitivity may result in increased discomfort during waxing. It is advisable to wait until receiving medical approval from your healthcare provider before resuming waxing postpartum.
Can I do intimate brightening while pregnant/breastfeeding or on my menstrual cycle?
During an intimate brightening treatment, a chemical peel is administered. It is advisable to avoid this procedure during pregnancy or breastfeeding, as well as in the five days preceding and following your menstrual cycle.
Can I get a Vajacial while pregnant?
Our Instant Soothe Vajacial is deemed safe for use during both pregnancy and breastfeeding.
How should I prepare for my wax appointment?
Exfoliate the area 24 hours prior to waxing using circular motions. Don’t have an exfoliator? Stop by to grab a scrub. Drink lots of water on the day of your appointment and avoid any lotions, serums, or deodorant.
How often should I wax?
I generally recommend getting sugared once every three weeks at the start of
your waxing journey. This allows your esthetician to remove the hair early in its growth
cycle and have the best chance of thinning or even permanent hair reduction.
Depending on your skin and hair type, it can be 4-6 weeks thereafter. The general rule
is – the more often you do it, the thinner and less visible your hair becomes.
How long does my hair have to be?
We recommend your hair to be from 1/4′′ long (or the length of a grain of rice).

Do you accept walk-ins?
I do not accept walk-ins. An appointment is required.
What is the Aftercare?
Pores will be open for 24-72 hours after your waxing service and will be more susceptible to bacteria. Avoid tanning, hot showers, friction, tight clothing, exercise/sweat, sexual intercourse, gyms, pools, saunas, beaches, and touching the area for 72 hours. Aftercare is important to maintain results! Exfoliate using Bare By Vanilla Sugar Scrub 72 hours after treatment and 2-3 times weekly. This helps keep hair growing up and away from the skin reducing ingrown hairs. Hydrate with Bare By Vanilla’s ingrown oil.
Is there anywhere that I cannot wax?
Just scalp and beard.
